Own A Business And New Parking Lot? 2 Maintenance Tips To Keep It Looking New

If you own a business and just had a new parking lot installed, you need to do maintenance to keep it looking new and in good condition. Below are two parking lot maintenance tips to know.

Keep it Clean

One of the most important things you can do is to keep the parking lot clean. This will remove debris that customers could trip over. Letting a lot of dirt sit on the asphalt can damage it causing cracks and other damage.

First, remove all debris and anything else you find in the parking lot. Use a large, wide broom to sweep the parking lot, or use a blower to make it much easier. If you do not have a blower, you can rent one.

You can clean the parking lot yourself if you do not have a very large parking lot. If your parking lot is large, hire a parking lot maintenance service to do this for you. If you do this on your own, you can use a power washer. Use a cleaner intended for asphalt and use the wand meant for this material. Refer to the owner's manual if you are not sure. Start at the top of the parking lot and move your way down. When you are finished, rinse the parking lot with clear water using the power washer to remove soap residue.

Inspect the Parking Lot

If you have a lot of customers that come in and out of the parking lot this can cause damage over time. Inspecting the parking lot periodically will allow you to see if there is any damage. You can then take care of the problem much quicker before things get worse.

If you see cracks on the asphalt, purchase crack filler and fill them in. Let the filler dry before you use your parking lot. If the crack is wide first remove any dirt inside of it before you use the filler. Filling in cracks will prevent them from spreading. Eventually, cracks will become larger which can result in potholes in your parking lot. If you have a lot of cracks or see other damages hire a parking lot maintenance services company to make the repairs for you.

The parking lot maintenance services company that you hire can give you much more information on maintaining your new parking lot.

Look for concrete contractors near you, and ask about how their services can help you.
